Made in the West 2018
What a fabulous time we had at the 2018 Made in the West Film Festival – with an impressive line-up of films and plenty of awesome young film-makers in attendance, we think it was one of the best yet at Event Cinemas Liverpool! Still Searchin’ Productions would like to congratulate all the entrants in this year’s event and particularly, the 14 finalists that had their films screened on the night – you each contributed to a great night of film watching and we take our hats off to you.
Mould Season 1
Mould centres on Macy and Arthur, a young couple who live in Western Sydney and are faced with a series of obstacles following Arthur’s declaration he is gay and Macy’s realisation she is trans. Suddenly what was the beginning of the end might actually be the start of something more beautiful…
Gloves, Rings and Unfortunate Wages
So here is a short film we shot for Plume Productions starring Nathan Baird and Setahar Naghoni. A story about corruption and lies in the ring.
Pushing The Envelope
Pushing the Envelope - a film about young love, hard drugs and a broken toilet seat.
Written and directed by Ross Page, working with cinematographer Jimmy Khouri, Still Searchin' Productions creates a twisted love tale of a boy trying to impress a girl. Starring Luke John Spiteri as the humble hero, this dark comedy follows Chris as he tries to help his beautiful love interest Alex (Hayley Maher), teaming up with smooth-talking crim Monte (Joseph Vasta) for a deal where just about everything that can go wrong does, and the two run into some interesting local characters, like wacky drug dealer Two-Dads (Quentin Yung) and cold-hearted crime boss Aunty Max (Margareta Moir).
Blind Justice – a collaboration between StillSearchin Productions and Shadow Wolves Productions – was written by (and stars!) Brendan Byrne – lead actor from There’s Something in the Pilliga.
The shoot was full of firsts - our first green screen scene at Green Key Studios and our first time collaborating with another production house.
The Red was shot in Cobar, NSW with a crew of six and a cast of five. Directed by Ross Page, Director of Photography Jimmy Khouri, and written by Matt Le Chin. For Ross and Jimmy it was their first attempt at a continuous shot for the torture scene in the film. Ben Hewlett did a very fine job for his first acting role. Travis O'Neill constructed the musical scoring and songs for the film.
